We typically fly into Puerto Vallarta and take a bus to the Tepic area where we stay. Here are some of the destinations to which we typically go.
Guayabitos
We usually visit Guayabitos on the final day of the trip. It is a resort area where locals go for vacation. It has a very nice beach, shopping, a wonderful place to get delicious chicken, among other sights. We stay in a resort and enjoy the beach or shopping. Guayabitos is a good spot to purchase items to take back for friends and family. At the end of the day, we meet together and reflect on all the things that God has done during our mission trip.
Pantanal
The “compound” that we stay at is actually within Pantanal’s town limits. The population is approximately 3,000 people with very few Christians. In Pantanal, we canvass the area for street ministry. We also work on projects at the church.
Pochotitán
In Pochotitán, we travel to a Huichol Indian village, which is a two-hour bus trip from where we stay. While we are there, we do work projects, skits, music, and medical outreach.
San Cayetano
Pastor Jose’s church is in San Cayetano. In addition to work projects at the church, we also do street ministry and door-to-door canvassing in the area.
Tepic, Nayarit
Tepic is the capital city of the state of Nayarit. In Tepic, we go to this downtown square for street ministry. It’s also an area where shopping in available. The beautiful Cerro de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross) is also located here.
