Each summer, our church sends a mission team to Mexico. Team Mexico typically consists of 20 to 30 members – teens to retirees. The group is led by Pastor Donald Wolan and Carolyn Russell.
A main objective of the mission trip is to help strengthen the local churches and the local ministries. In turn, the local churches help our team with outreach ministry in the local communities. The areas that we minister in are financially poor, but the people are generally very friendly and open.
We do outreach using skits, puppets, music, and Bible teachings. We also reach out to the teens and children through sports or other activities. Through all of these, we develop relationships and help build the local churches.
We mainly work in the San Cayetano, Mexico area, which is about 100 miles northeast of Puerto Vallarta. In addition, we also work at and do outreach at Huichol Indian villages as well as any other areas that God calls us to work at and minister at while we are there.
We would appreciate your prayers both before and during the mission trip. We also would be very grateful for any monetary donations if you are able.
The team is at the airport in Mexico waiting for their flight.
