JUNE 9, 2012
Submitted by: Candace
A lot of people have asked me, “Candace, are you ready?” My answer is, “Nope, I need more time!” As the months before the mission trip have turned into weeks, and the weeks into days, I have found myself feeling unprepared and unorganized. Of course, this is all in my head because we all know that I am going to be ready come Tuesday night when I am trying to pack my bag and make it under 50 pounds. Everything always comes together.
I am very excited for this group this year. I believe that God has chosen the perfect group to get the job done for Mexico 2012. I am very proud of all the hard work and dedication that my team members have put forth in the past few months. A lot of people have had to take time away from their families to be at practices and meetings, and I pray that God blesses each person more than they can imagine. For those of you reading this blog, please keep the team in your prayers as they make last minute preparations this week and for the trip in general.
So, as I sit here, I have a thousand things running through my very complex mind and the one thing that sticks out is, “I could have been doing something else to get ready for this trip!” HAHA…I guess that means I have decided that God has everything under control, and I am not going to let my mind tell me otherwise! 😉
And I leave you with a scripture that has encouraged me throughout the last few days:
“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever”
– Psalm 138:8
I hope you all will join me on this journey as I discover how God will fulfill his purpose in me in Mexico!
