I’ve made jokes about my 50 or so pound bag, and it’s really no joke. If you have ever taken a trip with me, you would know that for sure…lol. But as I do my final organizing, squeezing, pushing, shoving, and taking things out, I am thinking about the things I really care most that I’m taking with me. I’m taking a heart-shaped necklace, a ruby ring, and my Texas hat and purse. These items wouldn’t mean much to someone else, but they represent women that I have had in my life for a very long time and love dearly. One is near me, the other lives far away, and one is in heaven. These women have given me strength on my journey in one way or another, and I want these items with me to remind me of that love and strength when I no longer feel it or see it.
So, that’s it. Off to bed and up in four hours for a very long travel day. May we have joy on our journey and a light on our path as we go to be the sights and sounds of Jesus!
The team is at the airport in Mexico waiting for their flight.
