WOW – The mission trip is just around the corner. Six months ago this was just a thought, an idea. The best part is that I know 100% God wanted me to go on this trip. Every aspect of this trip is challenging to me. I am 150% out of my comfort zone. I don’t sing (Mexico would clear out if I sang), I don’t speak well in front of people, and I am shy and nervous around people I don’t know. I don’t speak a lick of Spanish, even after taking classes – I JUST CAN’T GET IT. I hate (which is not even a strong enough word) bugs, mice, rats, snakes, etc., etc.
With that in mind, stepping out of my comfort zone can be nothing but rewarding and full of blessings. I am great at taking care of people and doing for others, and I truly believe this to be a gift and a reason for God to want me to go on this trip. There can be no better way to use these gifts than to share them with those in Mexico. I am so looking forward to what God will do in the lives of everyone on the Mission Team and to see the blessings the entire Mission Team will receive by going on this mission trip. For me, I am looking for a deeper understanding of God’s love and compassion, bringing me even closer to the Lord and just seeing what He has in store for me. Expectations – I have none – I am leaving all of this up to the Lord and am excited to be a part of this experience.
